The Scorpion Suture Passer is the first one-hand, one-step suture passing instrument with a 16 mm jaw length to penetrate deep into tissue for arthroscopic suture placement through a small diameter 5.75 mm or larger cannula. The sterile, single use Scorpion Needle is replaced
after each case and is easily inserted through the handle cannulation and snapped into position.
A free suture end is simply placed into the notch of the lower jaw. The front handle controls the grasping function and continued squeezing of the handle drives the needle into the suture and through tissue, exiting the top jaw window of the instrument. The suture is retrieved out a separate portal or retrieved with the Scorpion serrated tip for same portal passing. It’s just that simple and easy to use.
